Fall of 0.9% in the number of business start-ups in the second quarter of 2019
11,126 new businesses were set up in the second quarter of 2019, representing a fall of 0.9% compared with the previous year. The largest highest net growth expressed as a percentage of existing companies was reported by the cantons of Appenzell Innerrhoden (2.1%), Vaud (1.9%), Lucerne, Valais and Thurgau, with 1.8% each.

11,599 business start-ups in the first quarter of 2019 – growth of 4.9% compared with same period of previous year
CRIF AG has examined the number of new businesses that were established during the first quarter of 2019, as well as the number of companies that were deleted over the same period. The highest net growth expressed as a percentage of existing companies was experienced in the Cantons of Appenzell Innerrhoden, Freiburg, Vaud, Zug and Aargau. The only canton to demonstrate a fall in the level of growth was Uri.

Where are Swiss companies going? Businesses numbers rise in Zug but fall in Zurich
CRIF AG has looked at the relocation destinations for companies entered in the commercial register in Switzerland over the course of 2018. The cantons of Zug, Thurgau and Lucerne saw the highest net inward relocation figures. The highest number of jobs were created in Zug, Lucerne and Vaud.
