Ever greater numbers of online traders are affected by fraud
Over 86% of all the traders questioned declared that they had already been affected by fraud on at least one occasion. In the past 12 months, loss levels amounting to over CHF 100,000 have doubled in comparison with the previous year. Traders are also increasingly outsourcing their fraud prevention measures, as shown by a joint survey undertaken by business intelligence agency CRIF and the trade association, Handelsverband.Swiss.

Slight rise in the rate of defaulting debtors in Switzerland
In comparison with January 2022, the rate of defaulting debtors has increased slightly, from 6.3% to 6.4%. The number of over-indebted individuals has risen to 556,959, with men aged between 38 and 41 having the highest rate of defaulting debtors.

Another increase in bankruptcies in July
In July 2022, the number of business bankruptcies rose by 24.2% in comparison with the previous year. The highest percentage hike was in the Cantons of Ticino, Basel-Stadt, and Valais. In terms of sector, architectural and engineering firms reported the greatest percentage growth.
